Wealth, Health, & Happiness
Are you a happy person? Do you wish you could be happier? Would you like to learn how? In my most recent Wealth, Health, & Happiness interview series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Kim Strobel, the happiness coach. Happiness has been a big driver for me on the financial planning journey. Having one of the coolest titles ever (happiness coach), Kim teaches individuals and companies how to maximize their happiness.
Here a SPAC, There a SPAC, Everywhere a SPAC SPAC!
For starters, SPAC stands for Special Purpose Acquisition Company, also referred to as a blank check company. Their general purpose is to find private companies and take them public, as an alternative to the traditional IPO routes. The reason you may have heard a lot about them recently is not due to their sudden emergence (they’ve been around for decades), but due to their recent massive increase in popularity. As a point of comparison, in 2016 they raised $3.2 billion, in 2019 they raised $13.6 billion, and in 2020 they raised a whopping $83 billion!
Understanding Biden’s Tax Plan: What it Means to You & What Can You Do
Like it or not, come January 20th, 2021 there will be a new POTUS living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. His name is Joe Biden and he’s on the more moderate side of the Democratic party. This article, however, will not be about who resides there. Instead, it’ll be about one of the two certainties in life besides death: Taxes!
2021 IRS Limits Announced -The Game Show Version
One would think after a few years of writing a weekly blog, I’d have learned a thing or two. For instance, if you want to get someone to read your blog, you probably shouldn’t title it something like “2021 IRS Limits Announced.” It’s likely the least exciting headline of all time, and being in the midst of a historic election season likely doesn’t help, either.
What You Need to Know About The Candidates
If you didn’t know, there’s an election coming up! (I know, groundbreaking news, right?) I don’t think I gained a thing after the debate the other night. These days, I find there’s a lot of “fake” news, as one party is trying to out-smear the other. Most of us are so caught up in it that we can’t see the forest through the trees. There’s still a lot of undecided voters out there and uncertainty on many angles of the election. This is why I thought a post on the actual policies being proposed by each party is warranted.
How Elections Affect Markets: Let’s Talk Politics
The number one, two, and three rules in my business are: don’t talk politics. I can insult your spouse, religion, children, or even Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, but don’t insult your political view. And let me tell you something, it’s true as the day is long. If you want to survive in my business, DON’T TALK POLITICS!
Markets Hit an All Time High, What Did You Learn? {Because Here’s My Top 10}
The US stock market, measured by the S&P 500, has hit an all-time high! Let me repeat that for dramatic affect. In the face of a pandemic and record unemployment, the markets have had a historic recovery from a historic downturn. Now, we can all sit here and question the reasons, or lack of reasons, why it has done so. However, for this article I’d like to focus on the lessons learned (or those that need to be reinforced).
What We Are Watching: 8 Market Impacts
Now that the official start to summer has arrived, I always have the same thought. Why do the days have to get shorter? I love these long summer nights the best. In a twisted way, I dread the longest day of the year, because now I know every day will get shorter and shorter. I almost prefer the shortest day, as I know each day will get longer.
What Has This Pandemic Taught You About Spending?
Have you ever tried writing a blog while playing Hulk and Spider-man with a two-year-old boy? Well as of today, I have. Let me tell you, it’s fabulous! I’m amazed to still be standing though, as I’ve had about 1,000 imaginary Spidey webs shot at me. Yet, I’ll muster the strength to go on. Folks, look what I have to overcome to keep putting quality articles out for you? That’s my dedication! ?
What the Heck is Going on With the Stock Market?
Happy unofficial start of the summer everyone. Summer is by-far my favorite season. This year’s Memorial Day, summer, back-yard BBQs, and hangouts with friends and family will be unlike any other it seems. However, there’ll still be plenty to enjoy in its own unique way. I grew up at the Jersey Shore and whenever I visit, it brings back tons of nostalgic memories.
