Top Blogs of 2025 Voted on By You
I love a tradition, and my annual top ten blogs voted on by you is one of my favorites. Truthfully, I don’t even know which ones did the best until now. I know it’s terrible of me. That said, for all you slackers below is a chance to catch-up on what you missed, or reread one of the greats 😊!
With that said, let’s hop in with a little summary.
- Encore Careers – Diversified LLC– Top blog of the year, 1 year running, talks about encore careers. What are encore careers, you may ask? Well, they are that tweener career in between no income and full-time career income. There is a lot to be gleaned from them, and I’ve found many of my clients relish this swan song career.
- The Market is Going to Crash! Lifeboat Drills – Diversified LLC– I could literally rerun this blog once a quarter, and it would remain relevant. Are you prepared for that next crash, or the one after that, or one after that? If you haven’t run a lifeboat drill, I highly recommend it, as remember those who don’t know the past are doomed to repeat it.
- Time Frame Adjustment– Retiring soon or already retired, what does that mean for your investment allocation? Spoiler alert, not as much as you’d like to believe. Retirement income and allocations should be aligned, and not some formulaic shift that knows nothing about your needs, incomes, or life expectancy.
- 6 Key Things We Are Watching in 2025 – Diversified LLC– Fun to reread something like this, as it was an early blog, and well, 2025 has expired. Lots have happened this year, and I’d imagine you’ll get to see the 2026 version coming out in the weeks ahead.
- Retirement Sea Legs– What will retirement have in store for you? Quite a lot naturally, but most importantly, the transition well is a transition. It takes time to get the hang of things, like any change, and retirement is no exception. Bang it here to get my observations of what to expect.
- The Case for Being House Poor – Diversified LLC– Provocative title, right? Thought being house poor is a terrible idea? Well, sometimes it is, but as the title suggests, sometimes it can save you a lot of money, pain, and anguish later. I liked this blog, and hopefully, as you read (or reread it), you’ll find it thought-provoking as well.
- Social Security Under the Big Beautiful Bill– What has changed and what will remain the same with Social Security under the Big Beautiful Bill. Glad you asked, and let this blog help be your guide. As always, we are here to help navigate through these waters.
- This is My Insurance Blog– Not quite the provocative title, and I was surprised this made the list. That said, I am glad it did, as so many of us need to get a hold of insurance in general.
- It’s a Revolution Baby! (An AI Revolution)– If you haven’t got the hint, I am big, big, big on artificial intelligence. I think it is the future and the present. You need to be leaning in, you need to be messing with this stuff, and if not, you need to be OK being replaced. I think it is that simple.
- 2 Types of Goals– Was glad this made the list, as there truly are 2 types of goals we all have. It is important to be aware that all goals aren’t created equal. There are goals we set and goals we make along the way. It is important to be aligned and prepared for the goal conversation.
- Bonus Blog– OK, you got the top ten, now you get a bonus one of what my favorite blog of the year was, which I’m shocked didn’t make the list. Any blog where I get to show off how beautiful and special one of the kids is instantly gets top billing honors with me. Not to mention, I got a ton of great responses on it, so why not share it again?
Blogging
I like to finish by saying thank you for all the wonderful feedback through the years of my writing blogs and you reading them. I am humbled that anyone would read anything I write, so now the key to my happiness is truly low expectations. It feels really great to put your heart and soul into something and have people respond positively. So, I big heartfelt thank you to all of you, and know that as long as you keep reading, I’ll keep writing. Make 2026 a fantastic year, and thanks for being you.
Stay wealthy, healthy, and happy.
