Top 10 Blogs of 2024, Voted on By You

I do love a good old tradition.  Since this ends my 9th year of writing weekly blogs one I have gone to at the end of every year is the top blogs blog.  Over that time period, we have gotten more fancy by bringing on an all-star head of marketing in Sarah Thomas.  What this means is that instead of me choosing my favorite blogs we have stats that now tell us what you all have selected as the most read blogs of the year.  So, without further ado, I present to you the most-read blogs of the year:

  1. First Year of Retirement – Diversified LLC– This little nugget was the most read of 2024 and I’d like to think well deserved.  Not only did you all read it the most, but it got a lot of national attention on Forbes and other outlets.  Guess I struck a nerve with this one, and you know what they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
  2. 2025 Changes – Diversified LLC– This is a newbie shooting to the top of the list as it came out only a few weeks ago.  That said I get it, 2025 brings changes on many levels, and good thing to start to understand them now, so you can plan accordingly and hit the new year running.
  3. 2.9 Billion Social Security Numbers Leaked – Now What? A good and bad thing this blog made it on the list.  Good that you all found it helpful, but kinda crummy we live in an age where I have to report on basically every Social Security number and personal information being leaked.  Not fun, but hey we are here for in good times and bad.
  4. Never Be the Dumb Money – Diversified LLC– OK I’m glad this one made it into the top 5 as candidly this was my favorite blog of the year.  I think it is great advice, thought-provoking, and if I do say so myself clever.  I’ve used this advice for years, and maybe someday someone will listen!  That said, if there is one blog to go back and reread this would get my vote.
  5. Powerful Investment Advice From a Legend-Diversified LLC– Coming off losing one of the greats of all time in investing, Charlie Munger, this blog attempts to tackle one of his age-old sayings.  I dive deep and analyze, to me, one of his most powerful words of, the first rule of compounding, never interrupt it unnecessarily. 
  6. Prioritizing Your Financial Life – Diversified LLC– This one deservedly belongs in the top 10 as it is a blog for literally everyone.  It goes into my version of Maslow’s Hierarchy of financial needs.  I think everyone, novice or expert, in finances, could benefit from this quick read. 
  7. Identity Theft 101- Everyone Wants to Be You, But Let’s Stop Them.– Ugh another one on the top ten about identity theft.  Hate this fact, but guess a good thing I’m writing about it as you are sadly dealing with it.  It truly is unfortunate that every month I have a client or clients reach out that their information has been stolen.  It is a terrible feeling and one I deeply sympathize with.
  8. Key Financial Ages – Diversified LLC– Another easy-to-read and yet-to-the-point blog about key financial ages and what it means to you.  There are certainly important ages for your financial lives and I explore the ones that should be on your calendar regardless of who you are. 
  9. Bitcoin, My Latest Thoughts – Diversified LLC– I love hating on Bitcoin, and I don’t plan to stop any time soon.  I know I know it has hit $100,000 per coin, congrats I still despise it and believe it is the world’s greatest Ponzi Scheme.  I’ll debate anyone anywhere on this fact and haven’t wavered through its historic rise.  Buyer beware and I’ll keep on hating.
  10. Quick Guide to Asset Allocation – Diversified LLC– This was a fun one as I got the chance to dive deeper into proper asset allocation.  Kind of an “Investment for Dummies 101”, although how dare you call me a dummy 😊!  In any case, this one snuck in as numero diez to round out the top blogs of the year!
