Worth The Moolah: A Mid-Summer Classic
As of writing this, we are in the midst of the other Mid-Summer Classic in the MLB All-Star Game. Although a few of our Phillies were wrongly passed over, I figured it was still worth sharing my worth the moolah blog. So, without further ado and up for much debate, here is my current list of things I consider worth the moolah.
Worth the Moolah 2025
- Walmart Plus- My friends Emily and Tug, I will absolutely give credit to them on this one. For a guy who has Amazon packages show up like 10 times a day, I must say this was a tough one for me to buy into. Then I realized for $98 (although I got it for half price on a promotion), I can have my cake and eat it too. I’m still learning the kinks and which site to use for what, but I can tell you this: Walmart Plus is awesome. Same day or even within an hour or two delivery on a ton of things, and you can create a shopping list of groceries as you run out, then just hit deliver. Many items are cheaper than Amazon, and you also get Paramount+ for free, amongst a handful of other perks. Anyway, you heard it here, just do it!
- YouTube TV– I know, I know, I am late to the party and was a cable TV loyalist. Over the past few years, I have been watching much less network TV and finally was convinced to pull the plug. Well, thank goodness I did, and let me tell you, once you do the same, there is no looking back. It is simple to use and sign up for different packages. It is also super mobile-friendly, which I love for my Phillies on the porch on a nice Summer evening!
- Life 360– Do you have children whose whereabouts are critical? If so, I highly recommend the Life 360 app. I put it on all my kids ‘ and my wife’s phones, and it is great. Tells me where they are, for how long, and notifies me when they get home safe. There are a ton of other cool features, like car crash alert, for when I actually have a driver in the house. Oh, and yes, it is much better than the normal Find My Friends on the iPhone.
- Slow Closing Toilet Seats- This, I’ve been a fan of for a while, and finally making the list. I can actually probably thank my friend Tug for this one, too, going back a long time. Listen, I don’t want to be harsh, but if your house or office has anything but a slow-close toilet seat, it shouldn’t be considered civilized. Or worst case, just know if I ever am invited over and use your commode, I’m letting that toilet seat drop and leaving it to fate’s hands.
- Ring Flood Lights– I truly love my ring cameras at my house. That said, I just upgraded and put ring flood lights in everywhere. They are awesome, as you can control every feature or setting from your phone. Plus, they double as a camera and a flood light, who knew?! In any event, this is a great product that, in my mind, is definitely worth the moolah.
- Lululemon Always in Motion Boxer– Move over Haines, there is a new king in town. The Lululemon boxer is next-level awesome. I probably own like every pair of boxer briefs known to man, or I should say I did until I discovered this beauty. Ladies, your husbands will thank you; fellas, you are already welcome. Not cheap, but totally worth it.
- Pet Insurance- Can I get a show of hands of everyone who has a dog that loves eating women’s undies? Oh, is it just me? Well, let’s just say if it wasn’t for this Pet insurance thing, I would either not have a dog anymore, or wouldn’t be able to afford a computer to write this blog on. The ROI on these things is a joke, and for a few hundred dollars, it has saved me multiple 5 figures.
- House Generator- This may be my most controversial item on the list, as this one, more than any other, takes real consideration, as it is not cheap. After 8 years in my house and throwing out our freezer stock dozens of times, my wife finally convinced me to bite the bullet. Man, was my timing good as this summer we have lost power like a dozen times, and zero groceries have lost their lives.
- Kings Loot Wallet– For years, I have been searching for the perfect wallet that can hold all my cards, very little cash, and not be overly bulky. Welp, in steps the King’s Loot Wallet thanks to my good friend Ryan. This bad boy checks all the boxes and certainly is better than my old Ridge wallet or my expensive designer wallets. I’m a one-wallet guy now, and it is all about that King’s Loot!
- ChatGPT– For those who haven’t ventured to the AI search software like ChatGPT, it is time to get with the times. I am still a plebe to be honest, but let me tell you, wow, just wow. This thing can plan your vacation, write a blog for you (although sadly I’m still grinding away the old-fashioned way), or basically do anything you ask of it. In a way, it is very scary, but in another way, the future is here. So get on the wagon or get left in the dust, as this thing is here to stay and a huge game-changer.
Alrighty folks there you have it, this years top 10 worth the moolah items. Let me know your thoughts and always looking for good recommendations if you got anything to add to the list.
As always, stay wealthy, healthy, and happy!
