Can’t I do this myself?
Sure! Just like you could do your own landscaping, or change your own oil. But sometimes, it’s easier to let someone else handle it for you – especially if you’re a busy person, or if you have a complicated financial situation.
We have expertise in financial planning, investment management and retirement income planning, and we’re here to help you not only plan your finances, but to identify what makes you happy, and to build your goals and your life around that happiness. We’ve received training from psychologists and coaches so that we can assist our clients in this task, so that is something you won’t find from a DIY app or website.
We also offer multiple financial services under one roof, from planning and investment management, to tax services through Diversified tax and a network of professionals such as attorneys and mortgage specialists. We’re here to help save you time by providing you with a convenient way to manage your financial life in one location.
What is a registered investment advisor?
Diversified is a Registered Investment Advisor. As such, we have a fiduciary duty to our clients, so you can be certain that we always put your best interest first. We also must disclose any conflict of interest. We are registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and state regulatory agencies.
What does fiduciary mean?
Fiduciary simply means that an individual or organization must act in your best interests. Diversified is a Registered Investment Advisor, and we are required to act as fiduciaries. What this means in simple terms that is that we always put your interests first – we don’t recommend a plan or a product expecting a commission or kick-back because that isn’t in your best interest. We are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest to uphold our fiduciary standard.
We operate our business with transparency in all that we do, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because we genuinely care. We want you to know that you’re in good hands with us, and that we’re here to serve you.
What do all of the acronyms (CFP, CEP, AIF) mean?
The acronyms behind our advisor’s names are designations of their licensure and certifications.
CFP means Certified Financial Planner, and to earn this certification one must complete education in 72 areas of financial expertise with thousands of hours of experience, including educational, ethical, examination and experience requirements. Learn more at the CFP Board.
CEP stands for Certified Estate Planner, and is from the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners.
AIF means Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and this designation comes from Center for Fiduciary Studies based upon experience, education and successful examination.
If you’re curious about any of the designations that you see by a name within our organization, they’re all listed with FINRA.
Who makes the investment decisions?
With a traditional Financial Advisor, the advisor typically makes the financial plan, does the investments, and completes all of the back-office tasks. At Diversified, we have a dedicated team for each part of our business, so our Financial Advisors can focus on their financial planning. The investment planning takes place within our Investment Committee, headed by our Chief Investment Officer, Mike Horwath.
Mike writes weekly market commentary to keep you up-to-date with market changes. This commentary is sent via email weekly and is available on our blog and social media. Mike also creates monthly and quarterly videos to update you on market changes, inform you on how we structure investments, and to keep you informed regarding investment changes.
Who owns Diversified?
Diversified is owned by two partners, Andrew Rosen and David Levy.
